Financial Accounting and Reporting. What to do to pass.

FAR is a tricky little paper, which actually used to be 2 separate exams under the old ACA syllabus. This means that FAR is a difficult mix of very numbers-focused questions (Q1, consolidation questions) and narrative-focused questions ("explain the IFRS treatment").

As a bit of a "mixed bag", you need to develop 2 quite different skillsets, and this can be challenging.

On the plus side, if you can crack the "explain the IFRS treatment" questions, this will be very useful for the Corporate Reporting and Strategic Business Management papers at the Advanced Level. So keep all your notes and knowledge!

As with all the Professional Level ACA papers, it is vital that you use resources that force you to engage actively with the content: simply reading and note-taking is very unlikely to get the content into your brain!

For FAR, we offer our Rapid Revision Question Bank e-book which offers over a thousand short-form questions to help you learn both the narrative and number content through a self-test format. Actively testing your knowledge through questions is always the best way to deal with the volume of narrative content in this kind of paper.

We can also offer our Technique Improvement Service to review your Mock practice attempts to unlock further valuable marks through improvements in writing style, interpretation of the question and other factors.

Thank you once again for all your help! Hopefully, I will get over the line with this one and then enjoy my first break from exams in a two and a bit years! Couldn't have got this far without you!

Many thanks for your best wishes, I really appreciate all your help. I feel very relieved to have found your company - I can't imagine just going in with my  experience as a distance learner, I definitely wouldn't have stood a chance!

Your annotations seem to be very helpful from the initial brief review of the comments, with some things that no-one had mentioned to me before, so I can straight away see an area that I can easily improve on.

Thanks for the feedback. This was really helpful and I will study it in detail. The feedback is exactly what I was looking for because it shows exactly how I lost my marks, bit by bit. I will definitely recommend TIS to others.

Would just like to say a massive thank you for all your help over the past 3 years! I really don't think I would be sitting here having passed all three of my finals if it wasn't for your help.
